About The Course

Level 1

This e-learning course is part of a three-level series focused on the thematic area of Working With Children Using Creative And Dramatic Play. The series is structured as follows:

  • Level 1: Children aged 3–4 years
  • Level 2: Children aged 5–8 years
  • Level 3: Children aged 9–11 years

This Level 1 online course is suitable for parents, guardians; early years practitioners; teachers; classroom support staff; foster care support staff; therapists; counsellors; social workers, other caregivers and professionals who support or work with children. It is also suitable to any other adult, who is interested in learning more about children.


Course Description

This course introduces you to the concept of creative and dramatic play, and its vital role in the early developmental stages of a child’s life. Dramatic play is a powerful tool that supports social, emotional, and cognitive growth in young children. Through this ecourse, you will understand the importance of creative play and dramatic play, and how it can be effectively used in supporting children aged 3–4.

The online course also covers various types of dramatic play, and highlights developmental benefits. You will discover how to encourage imaginative play among toddlers and preschoolers, explore practical dramatic play ideas, and learn how to create supportive environments that foster creativity and expression in early childhood settings.
